Under-fire Karius will come back stronger – Mignolet

Simon Mignolet is backing his Liverpool team-mate Loris Karius to bounce back from being dropped for the 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough on Wednesday.
Karius was replaced in between the sticks by Mignolet for the match against Aitor Karanka’s men after receiving criticism for a few high-profile errors.
The German keeper was arguably at fault for both of West Ham’s goals during the Reds’ 2-2 draw last weekend following another gaffe against Bournemouth just a week earlier.
Mignolet, who performed well when called upon against Boro, reckons Karius will be hurting but is confident that he will learn from it and come back “stronger”.
“We have our goalies’ union Christmas dinner — about 10 of us go out for food,” said Mignolet.
“The goalies’ union is something special. Only we know our job and situation.
“We are team-mates, we all have to get through it and push each other. For Loris, it will not be nice. But he’s more than capable and professional enough to deal with it and learn from it.
“He will only get stronger from it.”
