Mignolet to replace Karius in net for Boro clash – reports

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will reportedly drop Loris Karius and replace him with Simon Mignolet for Wednesday’s clash with Middlesbrough.

The Sun claims that the German keeper will be taken out of the firing line by Klopp following a couple of high-profile errors in the last two matches.

The 23-year-old was at fault on at least one occasion in the Reds’ 2-2 draw against West Ham on Sunday, while he cost Liverpool in injury time as they slumped to a 4-3 loss to Bournemouth in their previous match.

A big call from Jurgen Klopp who has dropped Loris Karius from the Liverpool team that faces Middlesbrough tonight. Simon Mignolet comes in.

Karius has taken a lot of criticism over the past week or two from pundits including the Neville brothers and Jamie Carragher, while Didi Hamann, Chris Sutton and Jens Lehmann have been sticking up for the former Mainz stopper.

And the talk and pressure of the situation seems to have told, as the Reds boss  – despite publicly backing Karius – will give Mignolet his chance to impress as they travel to the Riverside to take on Aitor Karanka’s men.
