Didi Hamann has called Jamie Carragher’s recent comments over the form of Liverpool keeper Loris Karius “disrespectful”.
Karius has come in for further criticism after his performance was questioned in the Reds’ 2-2 draw with West Ham following on from his howler against Bournemouth last weekend.
“This week defending across the Premier League has been absolutely embarrassing,” said the former Liverpool centre-back.
“My advice to Karius would be to shut up and do your job.
“Karius’ confidence is all over the place, he does the hokey-cokey when he comes out for the second goal and then he freezes.”
Phil Neville was also less than complimentary to Karius on Match of the Day over his decision to speak to the media about his form.
And Carragher’s former Liverpool team-mate Hamann has taken to social media to criticise the pair for their outspoken views.
“That’s the most laughable thing I’ve read in a long time. Disrespectful to say the least,” Hamann said.
“Carra is out of order too. Karius is 23 years old and played over 100 top flight games. Outrageous comments, deserves a little more respect.
“You can criticise as much as you want but you don’t tell an adult to shut up. Poor form.”
