Football365’s very own Daniel Storey has been named Writer of the Year at the Football Supporters’ Federation awards.
Named among a list of strong contenders from The Guardian, The Times, the Daily Telegraph and ESPN, Daniel heroically emerged the victor at the awards in London on Monday evening.
The first ever online-only winner of the award, Daniel has received due praise over the past 12 months for his writing, in particular his Portrait of an Icon series. His gossip sections leave plenty to be desired, however.
The six-man shortlist included David Conn, Owen Gibson, Jonathan Liew, Iain Macintosh and Henry Winter.
“I’m humbled,” said Daniel. “The honour was to be nominated alongside those names.
“It’ll take a long time to sink in.”
Congratulations @danielstory85 winning @The_FSF writer of the year. Proud to be shortlisted again, sorry I couldn't be there tonight. Enjoy! https://t.co/YFUcqAodKq

Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho was named Footballer of the Year during the evening, while other winners included Jamie Carragher, Martin Tyler and The Guardian.
Sarah Winterburn awaits an MBE for having to sub all of it, but congratulations to our boy. We’re bloody proud of him.
