Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho could leave Anfield for West Brom in January, according to reports.

The France international was sent home from the Reds’ pre-season tour of the USA in August for ‘lack of respect’ after being late to meetings on three separate occasions.

Since then, Sakho has been training with the under-23 side at Anfield with no hope of a return to first-team action in the near future under Jurgen Klopp.

The 26-year-old hasn’t played for Liverpool since April due to a failed drugs test – which he has since been cleared of – his issues with the manager and injury troubles.

The Frenchman is understood to have turned down moves to Besiktas, Stoke and West Brom in the summer, instead wanting to stay and fight for his place.

However, with it looking unlikely that Sakho will play for the Reds anytime soon, the Liverpool Echo claims that the defender will be allowed to leave Merseyside on loan in January and that the Baggies are considering a move.
