Memphis Depay

DEPAY IT FORWARD
We said on Monday that we are ‘daydreaming about a front three of Depay, Romelu Lukaku and Yannick Bolasie at Everton’, and on Thursday the Daily Mail’s transfer guru Simon Jones writes that ‘Everton are willing to rescue Memphis Depay from his nightmare spell at Manchester United’. We can see into the future.

It seems Ronald Koeman believes he can rescue the career of Depay, who he watched come off the bench in Holland’s 1-1 draw with Belgium. Jones writes: ‘The former Southampton boss is looking to add to his offensive options and sees his compatriot as good competition for the likes of Kevin Mirallas and Gerard Deulofeu, who have failed to impress this season.’

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say that ‘Andreas Pereira is open to cutting short his loan spell at Granada to bolster Manchester United’s squad in January’ (well, he would be) and United full-back Antonio Valencia wants to open talks with Manchester United over a new contract (well, he would).

HENRICHS A WANTED MAN
Bayer Leverkusen defender Benjamin Henrichs has been called up to the Germany squad for the first time this week and has celebrated by being linked with Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, according to Sport Bild. The 19-year-old has shown phenomenal versatility this season, with eight games played at right-back and six on the left. You may have seen him in either position against Tottenham in the Champions League.

CONTE WANTS VERRATTI
“I’m not leaving Paris until I win a Champions League,” said Marco Verratti just a few weeks ago, but the Daily Mirror prefer to highlight quotes from his agent Donato Di Campli, who said last month: “The contracts are made and unmade in three minutes. We’ll see PSG’s aims, Marco is happy to be there, but he wants to win something important. He can not stay in a team that does not win.”

Chelsea may well need a new central midfielder, with offers being encouraged for Cesc Fabregas and Jon Obi Mikel looking likely to leave next summer when his contract expires. Only yesterday, Chelsea were linked with Inter Milan’s Geoffrey Kondogbia and Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi.

AND THE REST
Tottenham and West Ham have both shown an interest in signing Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic in January…West Bromwich Albion want Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho on loan…striker Sergio Aguero has dismissed links with Real Madrid…Watford forward Jerome Sinclair could move to Championship side Brentford on loan…Former QPR boss Ian Holloway has been interviewed for the vacant manager’s job at the club.
