WATCH: Carroll's overhead stunner

Andy Carroll scored a jaw-dropping overhead kick during West Ham's 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

In what is surely a contender for goal of the season, the striker was picked out by team-mate Michail Antonio and hit the ball with the sweetest of bicycle kicks to send it flying past Eagles goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.

It sent the London Stadium into raptures, and doubled the Hammers' lead after Sofiane Feghouli had opened the scoring with his first-ever Premier League goal.

Manuel Lanzini chipped home the third after a swift counter-attack from Antonio - who also assisted the opening goal - to seal a welcome three points for West Ham.

After the game, Carroll admitted he had tried the technique in training, with manager Slaven Bilic providing a humorous response to the claims.

"He has got it but when he was doing them in training, he was hitting the post or it was not going in and with his history with injuries, I go a little bit crazy when he tries them because I don’t want him to feel something after that," he said.

"I am a great fan of his. He gives you everything, he has character and he is a leader. That goal was also the end of a good move for us and to score in that manner, he is the one that deserved it."
