Czech Republic's Filip Novak spurned a glorious chance from five yards out with just Michael McGovern to beat in the Northern Ireland goal.
The opening World Cup Qualifier for these two sides finished 0-0 in Group C, but not before Novak missed an absolute sitter for the hosts in Prague.
A long throw caused chaos in the Northern Ireland box, and a Ladislav Krejci flick-on fell to Novak, who showed little composure to volley wide with just the 'keeper to beat.
It was easily the best chance of the night as Northern Ireland frustrated the Czech Republic in their opening qualifier.
While Paddy McNair went close for Michael O'Neill's men in the first half, it was all Czech Republic after the break.
The point could be crucial for Northern Ireland, as with Germany also in the group, their greatest challengers for second could be the Czechs.
