Holland coach Danny Blind bemoaned his side's bad luck after seeing them slump to a 2-1 friendly defeat at home to Greece.
Blind's hopes of a morale-boosting win ahead of their opening World Cup qualifier against Sweden on Tuesday were dashed by two Greek goals following Georginio Wijnaldum's opener.
It was another setback for Holland and their boss after their embarrassing failure to qualify for Euro 2016, but Blind felt his side deserved better.
"The Greeks hardly threatened our goal," Blind told broadcaster SBS 6.
"I can remember three moments and two yielded a goal. Luck was not on our side. The second ball often fell for the Greeks."
Holland captain Wesley Sneijder also claimed their were positives to take, but admitted they had to improve.
"There are a lot of things that went well, but things did not go well too," he said. "We can not give away so much space. That is unacceptable at this level."
