Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is to have further tests and scans on his hamstring injury on Tuesday.

The Belgium international came off nine minutes from the end of City's 3-1 win at Swansea on Saturday after he pulled up clutching his hamstring.

Sky sources understand De Bruyne underwent scans on Sunday but these were unable to determine the full extent of the problem and additional investigations will take place as a result.

De Bruyne is set to miss City's Champions League game at Celtic on Wednesday, but the latest tests will determine how long he will be sidelined for.

After Saturday's game at the Liberty Stadium, City boss Pep Guardiola said: "From the way he reacted, I think it's a muscular injury but I am not a doctor. I don't know how serious it is so we will travel back and then see what the doctor says.

"It's a pity as Kevin is an important player for us. That's why we have to have a big squad as everyone will help us."

Meanwhile, Yaya Toure trained with City's Champions League squad on Tuesday morning ahead of the trip to Glasgow even though he is not officially a member of the European squad.
