Jose Mourinho has hinted that Manchester United will move for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba this summer.

At his first press conference, the 53-year-old wasted no time in aiming digs at managerial rival Arsene Wenger and his United predecessor Louis van Gaal.

Mourinho then readily discussed transfers, with United expected to be active as they seek to return to the Champions League.

A move for former midfielder Pogba has been mooted, with United reportedly willing to spend £100m on the 23-year-old.

“The third player will be made official,” Mourinho began, before looking to his press officer and asking: “When?”

The Portuguese then continued, discussing his desire for four “specialists” in the summer transfer window.

United have already completed deals for Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Mkhitaryan and Pogba expected to be the other two they pursue.

“I want specialists. From this four, we have three,” he said. “Until we have the fourth we are working hard on that.

“When we get the fourth I can breathe. We don’t go to August 31. We do it before then.”

“I want the players I’m keeping to be happy. If a player leaves, he has to be replaced. We get the 3rd and hopefully we get the fourth.”
