International Champions Cup guide: Who's playing when and where and how to watch with Sky Sports

The International Champions Cup is underway - Sky Sports brings you the ultimate guide to the worldwide competition.

Seventeen high-profile clubs are taking part in three mini-tournaments in four locations - Australia, China, the United States and Europe. The tournament began on Friday, July 22, and runs until Saturday, August 13.

Respective league champions Leicester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, PSG and Barcelona are among those in action, as well as Pep Guardiola's new side Manchester City and their rivals Manchester United under Jose Mourinho. Some of the biggest clashes will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The teams invited to take part have been split between the locations and will each play up to three games, with the champions of each group decided on a points-based system.

We've picked out 10 top tussles to follow - all times are BST and dates correspond with UK coverage.

Saturday July 23 - Celtic 1-1 Leicester City (Leicester win 6-5 on penalties)

In the battle between Scottish and English champions, Leicester City came out on top thanks to a 6-5 penalty shoot-out victory.

Riyad Mahrez, linked with a move to Arsenal, opened the scoring at the start of the second half for the visitors with a wonderful curled shot before 20-year-old Irish defender Eoghan O'Connell levelled things up just before the hour mark, and that's how it stayed after 90 minutes.

The first 10 penalties in the shoot-out were scored before James Forrest had his effort saved by Kasper Schmeichel, handing Daniel Amartey the chance to score Leicester's sixth to secure the win.

Monday July 25 - Manchester City v Manchester United at the National Stadium, Beijing (1pm, follow on skysports.com and Sky Sports' mobile and iPad apps)

The first-ever Manchester derby to be played outside of the UK comes during the tournament, although box-office United signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic has not travelled with the United squad after being granted an extended break.

United have already indicated that the likes of Wayne Rooney and Marcus Rashford are unlikely to feature heavily after their Euro 2016 involvement, while the same could apply to City stars such as David Silva and Sergio Aguero, but that's unlikely to deter rivals fans eagerly looking for clues from the first Pep v Jose meeting of the season.

Tuesday July 26 - Juventus v Tottenham at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia (11am, live on Sky Sports 1)

Mauricio Pochettino's men are making the long trip to Melbourne to take part in the ICC this year, and it's a tough first game down under as they take on Serie A champions Juventus at the iconic MCG.

Juve have already confirmed that 12 players - including Manchester United target Paul Pogba and captain Gigi Buffon - will not be making the journey after their exploits at Euro 2016, with a similar policy expected from Tottenham.

Wednesday July 27 - Chelsea v Liverpool at the Rose Bowl, California (4am, follow on skysports.com and apps)

Another all-Premier League clash comes from North America and throws up a tantalising first meeting of the season between new Blues boss Antonio Conte and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

New Liverpool arrivals Sadio Mane, Joel Matip, Loris Karius and Marko Grujic are expected to travel after featuring in pre-season so far, although it is unknown whether Chelsea signings Michy Batshuayi and N'Golo Kante will be involved for their new club.

Thursday July 28 - Borussia Dortmund v Manchester City at the Longgang Stadium in Shenzhen, China (1pm, live on Sky Sports 1)

Another old foe for former Bayern Munich boss Guardiola as he comes up against old Bundesliga opponents Borussia Dortmund, with new signings Oleksandr Zinchenko and Nolito in line to feature.

Former Dortmund man Ilkay Gundogan hasn't travelled due to injury, but Joe Hart and Raheem Sterling should be involved as Guardiola's new-look City starts to take shape.

Friday July 29 - Tottenham v Atletico Madrid at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia (11am, live on Sky Sports 1)

Tottenham will be testing themselves against the best in Australia as they face Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid, who will play their second game since losing in the Champions League final against Real Madrid in May.

Although some regular first-team players are likely to be absent, Spurs fans still have new signings Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen to give the once over. 

Sunday July 31 - Liverpool v AC Milan at the Levi's Stadium, California (3am, live on Sky Sports 1)

Another stop in California for Liverpool, this time up the Pacific coast in Santa Clara, and a match-up against Italian side AC Milan.

The Reds are expected to have all of their international players back in the squad by this point, including the England and Belgium contingent, along with Emre Can and Joe Allen, who will be looking for some pre-season game time.

Sunday July 31 - PSG v Leicester at the StubHub Center, California (4.30am, live on Sky Sports 1)

In one of only two games to be played in the UK, Liverpool face Barcelona at Wembley to round off a busy pre-season.

With just a week before the Premier League season gets underway, Klopp will be looking for a good performance from his side as they prepare for their opener against Arsenal on August 14, live on Sky Sports.
