Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi plans to wait until the summer to appoint a full-time manager, Sky Sports News HQ understands.
Forest confirmed on Thursday that academy manager Gary Brazil would remain in charge of first-team affairs until the end of the season, working alongside coaches Jack Lester and Rob Page.
Sky sources understand only a downturn in form would alter Al Hasawi's stance on the matter and he is currently pleased with stability that Brazil has brought to the club following the sacking of Philippe Montanier on January 14.
Al Hasawi did hold talks with Mark Warburton about the managerial vacancy, according to Sky sources, but never offered the 54-year-old the role.
Rangers announced on Friday evening that they accepted the resignations of Warburton, assistant manager David Weir and head of recruitment Frank McParland.
However, Sky sources understand Warburton, Weir and McParland categorically deny resigning from Rangers.
Former Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett turned down the chance to replace Montanier last month following a failed takeover bid from former San Diego Padres owner John Jay Moores.
Forest have won three of their four matches since Brazil took charge, including a 2-1 success over Aston Villa at the City Ground last weekend.
That run of form has lifted Forest up to 15th in the Sky Bet Championship and away from immediate relegation danger, with an eight-point cushion between themselves and 22nd-placed Blackburn Rovers.
Forest will look to continue their fine run of form away at play-off chasing Norwich City on Saturday.
