CONFUSED PEREZ
Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal future is supposedly the biggest story at the Emirates Stadium, but what about poor Lucas Perez? He never gets the bloody headlines, does he?
According to an exclusive from Goal’s Arsenal correspondent, Chris Wheatley, the striker ‘is prepared to leave’ the club just a year after joining. He wants to ensure he has a place in Spain’s World Cup 2018 squad.
It is added that Perez ‘understands competition for places should be expected’, but he has been left ‘confused’ as to why he remains on the periphery of the Gunners squad.
He has scored six goals and provided five assists in 17 appearances this season, but only eight of those games have been starts. Poor bloke.
TO THE VICTOR…
Not heard about Victor Lindelof recently, have we? Well thank f**k for Calciomercato, the Italian website who obviously know about the Swedish defender joining an English club from a Portuguese side.
In all fairness, their claim does concern Roma somewhat. The Serie A outfit are trying to hijack the protracted deal, but reports suggest that United have reached a pre-contract agreement with centre-half Lindelof.
PSG are also targeting the Benfica star, but Jose Mourinho ‘will ultimately get the player’. Lovely.
TO BE FRANCK
Daniel Cutts has an exclusive for The Sun. Of course he does. And of course it’s online and not in the newspaper.
The claim is that Eric Bailly has recommended Franck Kessie to Jose Mourinho. They are international teammates for the Ivory Coast, and Bailly reckons his pal would be a grand old signing.
Cutts even has intel from a United source, who is reported to have said: “Bailly has flagged his international pal Kessie to the club. He thinks he could be the new Yaya.
“He was watched during the AFCON and they like what they see. There is other clubs looking at him as well.”
