Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says he is targeting a victory when he returns to Barcelona for a Champions League showdown this Wednesday.

Guardiola won the Champions League twice when he was in charge at the Nou Camp and is aware that City face a massive test.

But, having drawn with Celtic in their last group match, the City boss thinks his team need to look for a maximum points haul in Spain.

"I have never thought about the next game thinking a draw would be a good result," said Guardiola.

"Of course it is complicated. No win in Glasgow means we have to take points off Barcelona there or here [at the Etihad], and especially in Germany [against Borussia Monchengladbach] as well.

Pep Guardiola gives his reaction to Sky Sports after his side drew 1-1 with Everton

"We have four games left, we have to win two. We have to make six points to be in the next step.

"We are going to try to win the first points in the next game. That is sure."

Asked if a draw in Barcelona might end up proving a good result nonetheless, Guardiola said: "I don't know. It depends on the game.

"When you play like Saturday [when City were somewhat unfortunate to draw with Everton] then it is not a good result.

"But, if Barcelona play much better than us, maybe it is a good result."
