Jurgen Klopp declared himself a “very happy man” after watching Liverpool overcome Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Reds came out on top in a hectic affair at Selhurst Park with only five minutes and 45 seconds between the opening three goals.

Emre Can, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino scored the goals in the 4-2 victory that moves Liverpool back level on points with Arsenal and Manchester City, who won earlier in the day.

“In the first 15 minutes we were not really at 100% then in half an hour we created chance after chance. It was a close game and a deserved win at the end. I’m a very happy man,” Klopp said, talking to BT Sport after the match.

“The defensive error we made for the first goal is because we are not at the limit of our concentration. The aggressiveness was not there at the start of the game. But I saw a lot of wonderful things today offensively.”

Reds captain Jordan Henderson thought his side “managed the game well” and was delighted to get the result.

“It”s a difficult place to come. It was a battle throughout game but, in the second half, we managed the game well. Then we managed to finish the game off and, overall, we are delighted,” Henderson told BT Sport.

“We need to look back at the game and at the mistakes, but we forgot about that and moved on.

“I’ve said before we just need to concentrate on our game. We are not getting ahead of ourselves and taking it game by game.”
