David Unsworth hopes to see more Everton youngsters break into the first team after his U23s side won Premier League 2.
After Manchester City U23s were beaten by Liverpool on Monday, the Toffees' youth team were confirmed champions.
Former Everton defender Unsworth, who has been in charge of the side since 2013, has seen the likes of Tom Davies, Matthew Pennington, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Mason Holgate used by Ronald Koeman this season.
And he told Sky Sports News HQ: "I'm very proud - it's great to see - but because of the club we are always thinking about who's the next one.
"We've got a young crop that are really exciting. There's big numbers here who could have the opportunity to be regular first-teamers. If they're given the opportunity then they have to take it.
"It's up to the individuals. You can't hold their hands through the whole journey. You've got to let them fly. It's not acceptable just to make a debut now; do it and stay in the team, like Tom Davies, who has built up a run of appearances."
Unsworth's U23 side have been integral in the foundation of the 'Home Is Where The Heart Is' project with Everton in the community - and he says it makes him just as proud as seeing his youngsters turn out at Goodison Park.
"It's crucial this day and age that we have humble, well-rounded young men - and talented footballers," he said. "I haven't seen a player come in who hasn't worked in the community with all the projects we do.
"We wanted to do something special this year and make a real difference, so we set up the 'Home Is Where The Heart Is' project. It's led by the community but also the U23s staff and players and we're raising a lot of money to buy a house for four or five young adults and children who have not been afforded that opportunity and fallen on desperate times.
"The lads have really taken to it and the project has taken off. We're close to finalising a home for them and when that happens it will make me as proud as when our lads play for Everton on a Saturday."
