Former Wigan defender Maynor Figueroa scored the only goal as FC Dallas ran out 1-0 winners over Sporting Kansas City to maintain their unbeaten run this season.

In a clash between MLS' two undefeated sides, left-back Figueroa headed in a 77th-minute winner to move Dallas onto four wins and two draws for the campaign.

Dallas now sit two points behind Portland Timbers in the Western Conference, but have played two games fewer than the 2015 MLS champions.

Meanwhile, New York Red Bulls ran out 2-0 winners over Eastern Conference leaders Columbus Crew thanks to goals from Alex Muyl and Daniel Royer - victory moves the Red Bulls up to second.

Atlanta United earned their third win of the season with a 3-1 victory at Real Salt Lake, while New England Revolution drew 2-2 with DC United.
