Liverpool are reportedly targeting RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita after a phenomenal breathrough season in the Bundesliga.
Keita has scored four Bundesliga goals and registered six assists despite playing in central midfield; Goal claim he is wanted to ‘dynamise’ Liverpool’s midfield, which looked sluggish on Monday night as the Reds lost to Leicester.
As well as being a goal threat, Keita averages 2.7 tackles and 2.7 interceptions per Bundesliga game. For comparison, Jordan Henderson’s equivalent figures are 3.7 and 1.7, but he has scored just one Premier League goal and assisted four more.
The Goal report describes the interest as ‘ambitious’ as PSG and Arsenal have both been linked with Keita this week.
They cling to the notion that the Guinea international shares an agent with Sadio Mane and he has been impressed in his dealings with Liverpool.
Imagine if we manage to sign Naby Keita because we are dead nice to Mane..
