Klopp rubbishes talk of fanciful Lukaku transfer

Jurgen Klopp has rubbished Liverpool’s already non-existence chances of signing Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku is expected to leave Everton this summer after rejecting a contract worth more than £100,000 to stay at Goodison Park.

The striker is seeking Champions League football, and Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have all been linked.

Speaking on Friday, Klopp said that Liverpool were not interested in any potential deal.

“I like him, he’s a very good striker,” he said. “Everybody can estimate which price, if or not, he will have in the transfer market.

“I have never thought about players from other teams that we cannot reach.

“He is from Everton. I do not know about how many players moved between the clubs.

“He is a really good striker. He has our respect. He needs passes, support from other players. How can we avoid this? That’s my main thing.”
